MyJourneys — Refund Policy

myjourneys.appor expose to real users until legal review is complete. The policy below was drafted to match what the app actually does — confirm before publishing.
In plain English (non-legal summary)
We don't want anyone paying for something they aren't using. The short version:
- Within 14 days of paying for a subscription, you can ask for a full refund. No questions, no fee. Email
support@myjourneys.appand we'll process it within 5 business days. This is your statutory right under UK and EU consumer law and we honour it everywhere. - After 14 days, subscriptions don't refund pro-rata by default — but if you have a reason ("I never used it", "I bought the wrong plan", "the AI guide didn't work for my trip"), reply to your latest billing email and we'll review it case-by-case. We've never refused a reasonable request.
- One-off purchases (e.g. AI guide credits beyond the included quota, scrapbook PDF exports — once those features ship): refundable within 14 days only if you haven't consumed the item. Once you've generated the guide or downloaded the PDF, that's a delivered digital good and it's no longer refundable.
- Annual plans: same 14-day right of withdrawal. After 14 days we'll cancel the auto-renewal at end of term but won't pro-rata.
- Cancelling doesn't refund — it stops the next bill. You keep paid features until the end of the period you've already paid for.
If something feels wrong, email us before opening a chargeback. We're a small team; we're responsive; we'd rather make it right than fight it through Stripe.
Formal policy
1. Right of withdrawal (14 days)
You have the right to withdraw from any paid subscription with MyJourneys within 14 calendar days of the date your subscription begins, without giving any reason and without incurring any charge other than fees for content you have actively consumed (see §3).
This right applies to subscribers in the United Kingdom, European Economic Area, and is extended voluntarily to all other jurisdictions.

We will reimburse all payments received from you, using the same means of payment you used for the initial transaction, within 14 days of receiving your request. In practice we process most refunds within 5 working days.
2. After the 14-day window
Subscriptions paid for monthly or annually do not refund pro-rata once the 14-day right of withdrawal has expired. If you cancel within the paid period, you retain access to all paid features until the end of that period and your card will not be charged again.
If you have a reason for requesting a refund outside the 14-day window — service outage, accidental purchase, or something else — please email support@myjourneys.app. We review every case and aim to act fairly, even where we are not legally required to refund.
3. Digital goods consumed within the 14-day window
The right of withdrawal does not extend to digital goods that have been fully delivered and consumed during the withdrawal period, where you expressly consented to immediate performance. For MyJourneys this means:
- AI-generated trip guide: once you have viewed (loaded the page for) the generated guide, the digital good is delivered. You may withdraw from the subscription but not request a refund of the per-guide value.
- Scrapbook PDF export (when this feature ships): once downloaded, it is delivered.
- Physical scrapbook book (when this feature ships): governed by physical-goods returns policy — separate document, will be drafted alongside that feature.
In practice we still review case-by-case. If the AI guide was substantively unusable (e.g. the destination was wrong, the recommendations referenced closed venues), we will offer a regeneration credit or a full refund.
4. Chargebacks
Please contact us before initiating a chargeback with your card provider. Chargebacks cost both sides time and money, and we have never refused a reasonable refund request that came to us first. If a chargeback has already been initiated, we will respond to it through the normal Stripe dispute flow with a courteous narrative.
5. How long refunds take
- Card refunds via Stripe: typically 5–10 working days to appear on your statement, depending on your bank.
- Apple In-App Purchase refunds (when iOS native ships): handled by Apple, not by us. Use the Report a Problem flow on the App Store. We will support your case if asked.
- Google Play refunds (when Android native ships): same as Apple — Google's flow.
6. Currency and tax
Subscription prices are listed and charged in US Dollars (USD) at our published rates. VAT, GST, or local sales tax is added at checkout where applicable, based on your billing country. Refunds are issued in the original currency at the original tax-inclusive amount; we do not absorb foreign-exchange fluctuations between charge and refund dates.
7. Changes to this policy
We will notify subscribers by email at least 30 days before any material change to this refund policy takes effect. Changes do not apply retroactively to refund requests already in flight.
8. Who we are

MyJourneys is operated by MindRoam OÜ (registered in Estonia). Until the OÜ formation is complete, the service is operated by Andrew Samuels personally trading as MyJourneys; the controller transition will be notified to existing subscribers and reflected in this policy at that time.
9. Disputes
This policy is governed by the laws of Estonia for subscribers contracting with MindRoam OÜ. Subscribers in the UK and EU retain their statutory consumer protections under their domestic law and may bring claims in their local courts.
